Psychograph

Psychograph: An instrument designed to facilitate and test the mediumistic phenomenon of automatic writing (q.v.); it consists of a rotating disk which carries an index over an alphabet.

Psychography: In spiritualism and psychical research, direct writing (q.v.). In theosophy, the term is used for “writing under the dictation or the influence of one’s ‘soul power’” (The Theosophical Glossary).

A writer in full possession of his faculties may by sincere aspiration draw upon higher sources within himself or upon the aid given by those Helpers who stand ready to respond to such aspirations. Self-deception, however, is one of the commonest failings of human nature.
